Particular is a 3D particle system. It produces various natural effects like smoke, fire and sparks and also organic and techie-style graphical effects that are very useful for motion graphics design.
The real-time interactive preview allows browsing through the numerous presets and playing with them interactively to get a feeling of the dynamics.
The extensive built-in help provides text and animated images that visualize how the parameters work and includes several step-by-step tutorials on specific techniques.
Tight integration with Adobe After Effects provides bouncing particles on 3D layers, emitting particles from layers and lights and using a layer as custom particle. Comp-camera aware and 16bit of course!
The physics engine includes air resistance, gravity and turbulence, providing very realistic particle motion. The keyframable Physics Time Factor gives you full control over time so you can freeze time and move the camera around in a scene.
